I actively put Sacred Geometric concepts, along with subliminal archangel images into a recent Public Art Project. Collaborating with The Dept. of Cultural Affairs in Pasadena, we fulfilled the national requirement of the PerCent for Art Program. The 2 mural panels I created make up the only mural diptych in the city, utilizing Sacred Geometry throughout, while also paying tribute to the Masonic architecture which faces the large scale work of art.
If people think they are viewing super Realism white poppies that are as big as the Arroyo Bridge- okay. What they're actually looking at are several archangels- beings with 4 and 6 pairs of wings. Unlike abstract depictions, Sacred Geometry is essential when one attempts to depict seraphim in a more Representational manner.
Look at the dollar bill. Besides the now obvious Third Eye and Pyramid, the network of design in the seemingly empty spaces is geometric filigree much like a mandala. The journey one's eyes are taken through induces a state of sharpened awareness. Each of our pieces of money demonstrates Sacred Geometric principles that each of us can hold right in our hands. Walking through the labyrinth at Chartres or locally Grace Cathedral in San Francisco are Sacred Geometry journeys for our bodies.
I would encourage anyone interested to hit their local bookstore and also search online. There is extensive research available which explains every aspect of Sacred Geometry- the real basis for DaVinci Code.
It was also his study of Sacred Geometry which led Leonardo to view the flight patterns of birds- noticing the geometric varieties in each flight pattern. He birthed his full sketches for a helicopter, for example, from these observations.
